Greetings! Thank you for visiting my games page. As you may have noticed its not very scary. Or maybe it is in its own way if you consider what kind of games there are out there to play. Some of the ones I have mentioned in my list may be considered scary to some. Whether you love the scary or suspense type games to the just really fun games I hope you will find this page of some help. If you have any games you would like to see listed here please let me know with the type of information you see here and I'll add it. I have found links to some of the major companies that produce computer games. Visit
them and get the latest and greatest on what's happening and coming out in the way of
games. I love a computer magazine that many of you may have heard of. It's called
PC Gamer.
They rate the games and give lots of neat information about the games they rate and
what kind of software and/or hardware is needed to play them. A cd is always included
whenever you buy an issue of their magazine. On the cd are samples of a few games for
people to try to see if they like them. Have fun reading I do!

If you know of a helpful site you like feel free to let me know. Have fun playing your favorite games. Please note some games may not be appropriate for all ages so please read all information about the game before either purchasing or playing with young children. Computer Games
Phantasmagoria by Sierra
I really loved this game. It really kept my attention. I loved the puzzles. The game
is basically about an old house that belonged to a magician. A young couple buy the
house despite warnings from the town locals. In the game you are the wife and you
control what she does. As she goes from room to room in this very large old house
she discovers what kind of person use to live there. She has some very vivid visions
of things in the past in some rooms. In one room she unleashes a very evil spirit.
Then things start to get very exciting and good! If you want to know more buy the
game or borrow it from a friend. It seemed to be a little hard at times but it wasn't
so hard that I got frustrated to the point of giving up. There are a lot of vivid
graphics in it. I wouldn't recommend it for young children (in fact, there is an age
put on the game on the outside of the box to help parents decide whether to buy or not)
or the those with weak stomachs. I know you can install a censor so the graphics are
turned off. It is 7 cd's long. If I remember I finished the game in a week but I spent
several hours a day playing it. I would highly recommend it.
The Beast Within by Sierra
This is another game that I would highly recommend. I hope Sierra makes a sequel to
this one. This game is about werewolves back in the time of King Ludwig II. You play
the role of two different people. The first is Gabriel Knight; a writer and a Schattenjager.
He inherits a family castle in Germany. As the story builds he is called to go to Germany
to solve a case of werewolves. He experiences nightmares while he investigates clues.
There is a lot of history and wonderful pictures of the area. The second person is Grace
Nakimura. She is a researcher and is running a local bookstore for Gabriel in New Orleans
until the plot starts to thicken in Germany and she decides to do a little investigative
work on her own in Germany. Of course, as time goes on Gabriel learns she is in town then
the events become very interesting and intriguing. You'll have to play to find out the details.
I plan on playing this game again soon. This game is 6 cd's. Towards the end of the game
you go back and forth between 2 or 3 cd's to finish it. In fact if you get stuck during
the game you can log onto Sierra's hint page which is a chat room and there is usually someone
there that is playing or has played the game and can give you hints/the step to get you unstuck.
Have fun hunting for werewolves!
Shivers & Shivers II by Sierra
These 2 games are about a haunted house. The main character is dared by some friends and they lock the gate so you have to spend the night in this haunted house. There are lots of puzzles to solve outside the house as well as inside. The first Shivers is difficult at times to solve but not impossible. I am still in the middle of playing this one. If you have the time this is a good one. I haven't played Shivers II. I know it's out on cd. The first Shivers is 1 cd. BOO!
3-D Ultra Pinball & 3-D Ultra Pinball Creep Night by Sierra
These 2 separate cd's are pinball games. I happen to be a pinball nut and decided instead of sinking lots of quarters into pinball machines and sometimes not getting to play as long as I want to I decided to sink my quarters into these and play for hours. Each cd has 3 separate and very different pinball games. You can play each one on its own or select play all and the computer randomly brings up parts of the other ones and it adds variety. The Creep Night cd is along the lines of haunted houses and creepy things such as ghosts and goblins. The Ultra Pinball is more along the standard type of pinball machines but both have some very neat graphics and sound effects! If you are into pinball games you will like these 2 cd's.
3D Ultra Pinball The Lost Continent by Sierra
This game just came out and of course I had to have it since I love pinball. I guess now some have called me the Pinball Wizard. Anyway, the game is excellent. I think Sierra has out done themselves. The graphics and sound effects are great! As you're playing and accomplish the goal in the area you're playing you advance to the next scene. There are people in the game and they are animated as well. If your into dinosaurs then you'll love this game. I highly recommend this pinball game for all you Pinball Wizards out there looking for another challenge.
Hoyle by Sierra
This game I think has adults in mind. On this cd you get 7 different casino games which are: Pai Gow Poker, Video Poker, Red Dog, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and of course Slots! You can even get on-line gambling strategies. This cd is very richly detailed and you feel you are right there playing. While you are playing the background sounds are very realistic as well as the dealers. A must for your computer if you like to gamble. You can gamble all night and not lose a dime!
Monopoly by Virgin Games
If you're a Monopoly fan you'll especially like this version. The playing pieces are animated and each has their own unique sound effect. You can still have the same number of players or you can play the computer if playing alone. When you land on a property each one is landscaped according to the value of the property. For example, Baltic has old tires and stuff yet
Atlantic Avenue is pretty. Some even have sound effects such as birds chirping. You can set the game up so when you land on Luxury Tax for example the money goes to free parking so when someone lands on free parking they get the money. You can also have the bank put $500 on free parking after each time someone lands on it. You can also make landing on GO worth $400 but you have to land on it. When you land on Go To Jail you hear some sirens and then a cartoon pops up of someone getting thrown into a police van and taken to jail. It's
kind of humorous. I love playing this version almost more than the board type because you don't have to mess with money and the sound effects are great. There are really neat graphics which add
a lot to the game. This a good family game. BTW, the little man that is associated with Monopoly on the box rolls the dice for you. You can actually play this game over the internet with other people. I haven't tried it but it sounds like it could be pretty neat. Want to trade properties!
The 7th Guest & The 11th Hour by Virgin Games
I have finished The 7th Guest but I am still in the middle of the The 11th Hour. These games are based on a haunted house by a man named Stauf. As the story goes he is a little on the weird side and builds a doll and some other toys that make children die. He has a weird laugh. As you go from room to room trying to solve the puzzles he talks to you and makes comments about how you are playing the game. The graphics and sound effects in both games are very good. At times ghosts travel about the house and the people in the pictures make creepy noises and movements. When you solve a puzzle
Stauf doesn't like it and makes a comment to the effect. If you are in to graphics and animation with cool sounds you will like this one too. I wouldn't recommend this game for kids (little or big) that get scared easily.
Lands of Lore by Westwood Studios
This game uses Captain Jon Luke Picard's voice for one of the character's. Sometimes it seems weird hearing his voice used for one of the main
characters instead of on Star Trek. This game is quite fun in its own way. You travel through woods and fight animals and collect things. You meet some really unusual people in little shops and even a tavern. There is an evil woman that can turn herself into a raven. You travel through forests, caverns, mines, swamps and meet some interesting people at Gladstone. Kids might enjoy this one. Happy travels!
Descent by Interplay
This game you fly a ship through this place which is a little hard to describe but it seems like a space station. You rescue people and travel to different rooms and get power supplies and other extra weapons. I have the anniversary edition and it has several different levels. You can use a joy stick or your keyboard. There are cheat codes to shield your ship against the other ships you are fighting against along the way. I have spent hours playing this game and never got bored. It's a good one to have because you can play it over and over again.
Jewels of the Oracle and Karma Curse of the 12 Caves are put out by a company called DISCIS Entertainment. I haven't been able to find a web site for them. These 2 games are quite fun. You travel through caves and solve various puzzles. The
graphics and sound effects are really neat. In Karma this Oriental Scholar greets you and explains the game as you go. He captures your attention with what he has to say and how he says it. I thinks kids as well as adults would like these games. I don't think these games are any way violent or intense as some of the other games I have mentioned. Each game is a separate
cd. Have fun in the caves!
Stellar 7 by Dynamic a Division of Sierra
This game has been around for a while. I really like it. It has really good sound effects. When you first start the game this alien looking guy talks to you and his voice sounds really neat! You are in control of a space ship and your mission is to destroy other craft that comes into the area. This game takes good eye and hand coordination. I think kids would like this game. There aren't any graphics of killing people or animals in this game.
Battle Chess by Interplay
I am not a chess player. Therefore I can't say to much about this game. I know others have played it and enjoyed it very much. If you are into chess this may be the game for you.
Doom
I received this game in a ten pack of cd games. My cd of the game is a shareware version.
On the cd it says its from Gold Medallion Software in Scottsdale, Arizona.
It's a 3d virtual reality game. From what I can tell from watching others play it there
isn't any plot or purpose other than to shoot people and animals with various types of guns.
There are different levels on a cd. There are also several cd's out of Doom, Doom II, Doom III etc.
I don't like the idea of killing people and animals so I don't play the game's. I think this game
is intended for those that want a lot of action without having to solve puzzles. I know Doom is very
popular with lots of people. Before you buy it I suggest you play it for yourself and see what you think.
I personally do not recommend this game for kids.
Kings Quest by Sierra
There are 7 different King's Quest out. I haven't played all 7. In this game you travel to villages and towns and meet lots of people. Kids as well as adults really like Kings Quest. Have fun!
Trivial Pursuit by Hasbro Interactive
If your a whiz at the board game you'll love this one. It has pictures and at times even movies. Some of the scenes are even narrated. This version is nice for those that can't get people to play; now you can play the computer.
Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? by Broderbund
For those of you that have always wanted to be a detective or has a detective in the family this game is for you. It is quite involved and you have to answer questions and search for clues from lots of different places. In this version you travel to different places in the world. There are different versions out so check your local computer store for the different ones. I think this game would be best for the older elementary kids on up in age. Sorry the young super sleuths may have to do some investigating on their own!
Myst by Broderbund
Now here is a game that has some mixed reviews. Seems from the people that I have talked with you either love this game or you hate it. Interesting huh! I personally didn't like it. I got bored with it. I thought it had great graphics and sound effects but it was hard to figure out what the object of the game was. Once this guy tells his story of this book he wrote I felt you were left hanging. I ended up clicking on things and at times certain things happened but then at other times nothing happened. Well, if you like to explore the unknown this game may be the game for you.
Zork by Infocom
Are you a Zork fan like me?! Remember the old versions of Zork on those big o' floppies. There wasn't any graphics and you had to type in where you wanted to go and the computer told you where you were and what you were looking at! Well, boy has times changed. You can get all the Zork's on cd. If you go to Infocom's web site you can download them as well. I haven't tried this but they are available. They are still as fun if not more so. I have been playing Return To Zork and its a blast! The charactors are so funny in places. If you haven't played these games you should. I think these games would be okay for kids of all ages. The younger kids may want help.
The Knowledge Adventure and
Davidson & Associates at one time was two different companies that created some wonderful learning software for kids. In my research it seems there is only one site which is The Learning Knowledge. If you have some more insight to this let me know. There are different age levels and different software geared for different subjects such as learning to read, write, phonics and math. I would highly recommend parents to go to these sites and check out what they have to offer. If I had young kids at home with a computer I would be buying this stuff for them. The programs are well written and are made to be fun for the kids. They are made to be like a game and are animated and the graphics are really neat. Of course, the price tag on some of these learning tools aren't cheap but they are worth the investment. If you have kids in school you might to want to check with the staff and see what kind of software they are using and see what your kids think of it.
Welcome To WebRPG
I have an interest in role playing games but I don't know that much about it. So I have provided a link to a wonderful site that really covers Role Playing Games quite well. I hope it answers all your questions as well as providing some place to go and have fun! Please feel free to leave a comment in my
game book about your favorite or not so favorite rpg.
The Way Things Work by David McCauley
This isn't really a game but yet it is quite entertaining. This cd is a guide into the world of machines, inventions and technology. There is a very cute
woolly mammoth that helps the narrator with some of the inventions and things seem to happen to him that are
kind of funny at times. You pick the category by a letter in the alphabet and there is a list of things you can pick from and then the selected item appears for example a battery. The picture shows what it looks like inside as well as outside and all the parts are described as well as how they work to together. There are things moving and things happening associated with the battery while the narrator is talking. You can also watch movies on a projection screen about the
woolly mammoth. The movies are quite entertaining and humorous. As an adult I would probably grow tired of it fast but I think kids might enjoy it. The narrator explains things in a way that kids can understand without going over their heads which is nice.
Midtown Madness & Monster Truck Madness by Microsoft
I love these games! Each game is a separate cd. In Midtown Madness
you get to select the type of car you want to drive; in Monster Truck Madness
you select the truck you want to drive. The scenes are different depending on the vehicle you pick. The scenes really make you feel your right there. I have a joystick but I have heard from others if you can afford a steering wheel for computers the games are more realistic. Microsoft does make a steering wheel but there are other makes and models out. BTW, these games eat up the disk space on your computer. The scenes are constantly changing as you travel down streets/dirt roads to the finish line. You can play other people or just the computer. I really like these games! These are really fun and I think a good family type computer game if you like the driving type games. Hey parents maybe your teenager can do these games instead of driving the family car. Hummm its a thought! Have fun driving!
As I have time to check out and/or play games I'll put them here to let you know what I thought of them. Have fun playing and please feel free to add your comments as well.
